Hvae you thought about looking for some of the macrame plant hangers? You can pick any ceramic pot you like and use one of those hangers to turn it into a hanging planter. I am sure you would be able to find some on ebay. They are very inexpensive.

I would go to any garden shop and see what they have. Most have some selection. K-mart of all places, in my town, has a great selection of hangers.

I found some non expensive ones at Lowes for less than 4 dollars in different colors, you will probably have to ask someone in the garden section where they are otherwise you will have a hard time trying to find them like I did!

There are some great wall mount plant hangers, some of them swivel, that you could use on the patio or indoors.
