Differential the island from the perimeter counters. Please consider post samples of the materials to make opining quicker.

Rainforest green is a marble, not a granite. It's a wonderfully unique stone with its one of a kind veining. Marble can defiantly be used in kitchens... It's just more porous than granite and requires more attention and extra care. If you keep it sealed then you will not have any problems with it!

Hi, Keerthi. We needed to delay building our house and will begin again in a few weeks. So. . . my thoughts have changed regarding the Rainforest Green for the countertops. We're decided to go with greys throughout the house and have chosen a beautiful SW grey for the kitchen cabinets (dark in tone). Unfortunately, I cannot locate the color swatch to give you the exact color. I am partial to quartz and Silestone has introduced a pure white "Zeus Extreme" that I love. Question: being traditional in nature, will a pure white countertop look too modern? Our kitchen, including breakfast area is 25 x 15, so it is large enough to carry the dark cabinets. Your thoughts?

I love white counters with dark cabinets. I guess it depends on just how traditional your house and kitchen will be, as the engineered quartz counters do tend to look a little more modern than granite or marble. But personally I would not hesitate to use the white quartz in the context you have described.
