Nothing silly about the question. What is silly is giving us a close-up look of one small branch and expecting a diagnosis. Stand back, and take a shot of the whole tree, and then, perhaps, a better look at the branch that is unhealthy. We don't even know what kind of tree you have there, but I guess it's a peach.

It may be that you have one diseaed peach branch with something like bacterial disease, but it is impossible to say without seeing the development of the rest of the tree.

Peaches are prone to dead branches and I cannot think of any reason to want to keep them. If you are sure it is dead and not just defoliated, I would remove it. Al
