I have also tried sprouting the seeds to no avail, and according to Dave's Garden, the seeds are sterile, or if they do sprout, the plants won't come true from seed. But, it does seem kind of pointless to waste the time and energy when PPPs cuttings are so easy to root in water.

Elf, I agree..it's a nice experiment of course, but PP's are sold at HD for something like 3.49 in 4" pots..I'd like the variegated..that'd be worth rooting or sowing, but if they don't come true to seed, there's no sense wasting time/soils/energy..

Bird, did the flowers have a well stinky odor? LOL..when I worked at HD in the gh, we got in a bunch of PP's in bud. As time went by the buds opened..I smelled something sour..Tried detecting the source, and sure enough it was flowers from PP. Did you notice an odor? Toni

There were only a total of 3 flowers, so not enough to produce a marked scent and I didn't put my nose up to them to smell them.

I guess you'd have to put your nose up to the plant to smell it's 'fragrance.' LOL..
Birds, just out of curiosty, do you have birds or did you choose screen name for another reason? Toni
