Works! I have a large dead tree in my back yard, it is the center of a flowerbed with all kinds of things hanging on it.

A few years ago I has a small tree DIE, right in the middle of my garden. I trained a wild vine to grow on it so It would still be a "green" verticle accent. Alas one windy day it toppled, but it was fun while it lasted. I hope yours lasts longer than mine did.

great save, kirk!i like the way you saved the rusticness,(new official word here)of the tree by putting in the rustic birdhouse and the spinners look kinda like copper so they blend in so nicely. The last tree we cut was a couple of weeks ago and it always breaks my heart. But it was a large tree and it was dead in the middle and if the wind blew much more, we were going to loss either the chicken house or the pool, whichever way the wind was blowing at the time! So hubby compromised and made me a chair. (I think it was really for the gr'babies, but thats ok, too!)Glad you could save yours, it looks so nice! blessings-sherri
