Hi All--I've been lurking for a month or so now and BOY do you guys have some great ideas! I've been very busy on the weekends finishing up some existing projects and working on new ones that your posts inspired me to do!

Feel free to take a look at some of my finished projects in my album (link below

Welcome Souperwoman! Thanks for sharing your wonderful creations! The pig and mushrooms are adorable. I have a good friend who is "ga-ga" over pigs. You gave me a great idea how to surprise her in her yard!

I particularly love your plate flowers on your fence! How did you attach the wire doodads? That's a nice extra touch. Mind if I use it? Plus I just like them on the fence. What a great idea!

Thanks again for sharing! And sure glad you came out of "lurkdomhood".

Thanks, guys! The mushrooms are some of my favorite pieces..and theyre sooo easy to do!!

B-the "wire doodads" were just attached to the back of the plates with a bit of the GE Silicone II. Since I knew they were for hanging and the backs would not be seen, it was the best solution i had at the time. Feel free to steal the idea--heaven's knows I've gotten a lot of my inspiration from other people's photos! :)

Soup! I can come over right now and get that chandelier. I LOVE IT! It's the best EVER! I also loved your big mushrooms with the interesting caps. I'd love to know how you did those.

Welcome! We'll really look forward to your future posts and friendship!

Welcome to the group Souperwoman, so glad to have you join us. I must tell you - the chandelier alone stopped me dead in my tracks. That is simply beautiful. I love it. It gives me inspiration for an old chandelier I have myself. I love the pig and mushrooms, I love the BB, I love the horse, I love it all. Thanks for coming out of lurkdom and sharing your garden pics with us.

Welcome to the junkyard!!!! Ditto!! Love it all! YOu have been a very busy lurker, soo glad you came out with such treasures. I am also interested how you put the little circles in your mushroom caps. I think that's the cutest gnome I've seen. Thank you for sharing.

WELCOME SOUPERWOMAN!!!! You have truly been UP, UP AND AWAY!!(yeah, I know, that was stupid, but it means you've been busy!) Your chandelier is so pretty and I love all of your creations! Your plate flowers are beautiful, that was going to be one of my next trials w/ the flowers. too. We just put up a new privacy fence and I was going to attach them to the fence, so it was my lucky day to see what you have done!! Enjoy your treasures, we sure have!! blessings-sherri

Daisy and Bright--the circles in the mushroom caps were done with bubble wrap. I pre popped it (so the holes wouldnt be too deep) and then lined my glass bowls with that instead of saran wrap. Then we just poured some thin set mortar (bought at the home improvement store for 8 bucks for a big box of powder that you mix with water). We used toilet paper tubes inserted in the mortar for the stems and, since we didn't have any rebar on hand, i put old butter knives down the middle as a "stake". Basically, just a modified version of some instructions i've seen on this board! :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE! You're all so so friendly! I can't wait to post my next project--i just have to decide which project is next! I used to look forward to the weekends because it meant a break from work---now i primarily look forward to them because it means i will have free time for my yard art! When we bought this house 2 years ago (our first home--we closed 2 weeks before our wedding and bought the house instead of taking a honeymoon), the place was a wreck. It was a foreclosure owned by someone who clearly hated yard work. They had replaced all the grass with tons and TONS of river rock and had taken a huge part of the yard and put up 3 massive chain link dog kennels. Between all the hard work we've done getting rid of rock, taking down kennels, and planting grass, I hadn't had much time to enjoy the yard. This spring was our turning point and, between the fruits of our labors and my newfound love of Garden Junk, I'd rather be in my back yard than any other place in the world!

Love the chandelier! Everything looks great!

Oh my, souperwoman! Or is Superwoman more appropriate? You have some stunning jit in your garden! (Who did I steal the "jit" expression from?) I absolutely love that chandelier. The horse, mushrooms and the cute piggy are all fantastic. Thanks for the idea of using old butter knives instead of rebar for the mushrooms. Very good alternative!

Wow! You are so creative! How did you ever think to use bubblewrap? Genius! And the butter knives--I will keep that in mind if I ever need a small "anchor" for something--I can hardly ever find spoons at the TS anymore, but there are tons of the knives needing to be used! Love all your creations, and enjoyed hearing the story of your yard renovation. Just goes to show what love and allot of hard work can do. ;o) Luvs

What a great response to our chat back and forth, Soup. I loved learning more about you and the house, and thank you SO much for sharing about the mushrooms. Bubble wrap and knives. Wonderful. You will have SO much fun with that great house and gardens over time. I know we're all looking forward to regular posts from you.

Oh wow!!! You have some great stuff there...love the chandelier and the horse the best....and the bowling ball is awesome too. I've actually been looking for just the right horse to do that very same thing.

Welcome to the group....I look forward to seeing more of your creations.
