picking the correct white trim????

I am painting my walls asparagus green...and I want a white for the trim, but most whites have a cast of other colors like gray, pink etc. I was considering a pure white but am afraid it will appear too stark. I want to achieve a crisp look and will put in a tan rug and tan bamboo shades with black and white furniture. I love the color scheme but the trim color is stumping me. I don't want tan....does anyone have an answer for me? Thank you Bon

Every designer has their favorite neutral white. Mine is the Swiss Coffee by Dunn Edwards. It reads white and goes with all off whites, as well as any color I've used.

Try Pittsburgh Paints 513-1 MOTHER OF PEARL as a good white to work with your asparagus! When you say 'tan' for your rug and bamboo shades do you mean 'camel'? Don't go taupe, whatever you do... Keep it clean and more gold--something along the lines of 314-4 SPICED VINEGAR.

Hi Karen, good suggestion! I've never heard of Dunn Edwards but I've looked it up and can see why you would be working with a reputable company like this. Not sure if bonbonbon is in the American Southwest, however (which is where Dunn Edwards is available). I'd love to get my hands on one of their fandecks! I have a collection of quite a few companies and use them all as inspiration.

Yes, Karen you're right. My favorite is White Dove OC-17 by Benjamin Moore. A pure, white...no undertones. Hope that helps Bon. Charmean Neithart

The asparagus green walls will have the white trim (yet to be picked)...with camel color rug, black furniture, camel color bamboo roll up shades...now picking a "pop" color like Orange...anyone have any suggestions???????

I think I would limit the "pop" colour to one or two or three accessory items, like an orangey-red glass piece or a little bit of orange in a piece of art with other colours. The asparagus green wall will be the most important colour statement in the room so I wouldn't overdo the orange.
