16 years ago

I love my junk so much it serves me well inside also

{{gwi:197028}}

I love these trellises. The paintings are from garage sales also from local Black artists of the 70s called Highwaymen because they sold their art out of the trunks of their cars

{{gwi:197029}}

These are on my porch but will be outside as soon as I find JUST the right spot

{{gwi:197030}}

Also on the porch

{{gwi:197031}}

This Tiki I made from paper mache and the whittled wood is from an estate

{{gwi:197032}}

Rusty hearts are on a high plant on my plant on the porch away from grand kids fingers

{{gwi:197033}}

My grandson gave me this pirate ARGH!

OK now show me YOUR inside garden junk!

    Cool stuff!!! Your birdhouse display over the cabinets looks so very nice. I would have never thought about using old windows, but it's a great idea. Also, I've got to get me one of those weathervanes.

    Here's mine

    The bird girl I got years ago at Lowes, and the green candle holders were bought on clearance at Target. I do not remember when the chess pieces came from, though.

    Cool I like those green candle things. Here is the other side of the kitchen with the weathervane. The one window is a mirror strategically placed to reflect light. The green rusty watering can we pulled out of the trash on a trip to NYACK New York when my son attended college there.He was quite horrified but it a great memory!
    The ducks are presents from my daughters family she knows I love ducks and I finally have some REAL ones now.

    The green bird cage was when DH and I took a trip to Leu gardens and stopped at a sale,another great memory!
    At Christmas I decorate the cupboard top with greenery and elves and poinsettias

    What amazing interior display!!! I loved every picture. The chess pieces are so gorgeous (Down on the Historic Strand in Galveston TX there use to be a giant chess set. I'm wondering if it is still there.). The trellises against the wall are also just so warming. The merchandised cabinet tops looks professionally arranged. I really like the candle lights arranged on the counter.

    This is wonderful! I'm getting some ideas already. In this new house I have space above my cabinets for the first time. I already have ideas running through my head.

    Golden I love what you have done above your cabinets. What are those two wooden things beneath your pass through? Very interesting. Your GS is developing great taste, I love that pirate, he's cool.

    Goldenpond, I really like your folk art pieces - the carved wood and coconut. I always go for that kind of stuff. Love the arrangement above the kitchen cabinets and the trellises on the wall. Great use of windows on the cabinets too!

    daisyadair, I like all your cool stuff too. Love unusual things!

    thanks all. the trellises use to hang in our office. I was hiding spme ugly paneling and I added lots of birdhouses.When we moved the office I took them home. If you want to retain some of the old barn wood look I would DRY brush them with a carmelly vanilla. White will be too stark. Unless they are using lots of white in THEIR place then go for it!
    Cant wait!

    I really like the trellis idea inside the house....Hmmm....Where can I put some?

    Daisydair....You have a bird girl! I've wanted one ever since my trip last year to Savannah and reading 'Midnight, but the ones on line are so expensive, and they are even more expensive in Savannah. All the shops there sell them. I want one for my garden thats 48" tall or close, so I can see it good.

    I love those trellises, and would want them inside too.
    And the decor on top of your kitchen cabinets is really neat. What a great place to decorate. I sure wish I had that in my kitchen.
    You've got a lot of wonderful things and I've looked at the photos several times to see what I may have missed.
    TFS.

    hugs, Karen
