I agree it's been chopped or eaten down and that it's a monocot. (Purple did you maybe mean leek rather than celery?) Can you let us see a side view to see the base of the plant? And what is the context? Indoors? Outdoors? Location?

Amaryllis, hemerocallis, or something else with strap-like leaves.

Fatamorgana, I don't think it's Hemerocallis or Amaryllis because of the spiral arrangement rather than a fan. The pattern is Agave-like but the texture of the leaves looks too soft.

Some sense of the scale would be helpful.

Corn / Maize?

I was on a hike near the Santa Cruz Mountain foothills here in Northern California. I was actually taking pictures of mushrooms when I found that growing up from the dirt in the shape of a cone. Perhaps it was something that was chopped down? I have no clue.
