They are cool, they don't work on rainy or very cloudy days however. They will float around but you can anchor them. Also much less expensive on Ebay

I had one like this (link below). It worked well for it's limitations. There's no battery storage so it didn't work on a cloudy day, not even when a cloud passed over the sun. So would be better in a pond in full sun. Yes, they do float around where ever they want - mostly to the side of the pond the wind pushes them to - which means they will squirt water over the edge and OUT of the pond on a breezy day unless you anchor it in the middle somehow.
I paid $25 (shipping included) on ebay, IMO it was worth about $15.

That's exactly what I thought; that they'd probably float over to the side and squirt water *out* of the pond. :)

And while some solar things work well in even low light, it sounds like these need full sun. Which we rarely get around here in SW Washington state.
