Hi, could someone tell me if the seed of Empress of China, or
Paulownia tomentosa, is it the two big seeds in the pod, or is it the tiny seed looking things that fill the pod? I have pictures if that helps, thanks so much!
Just a note , anyone interested in this gorgeous, FAST GROWING, tree; I kept reading the seeds are hard to find. Well, now I know why, the day I posted my question, my tree was loaded with the seeds, NEXT day, they were all gone! They pop open and are so tiny they are lost. I don't know what other trees do this, but I'll certainly be finding out! What a shock!
Neva, it's not just some trees...many perennial plants do the same. It's a fine line sometimes between wanting to make sure they are mature and losing them - bagging the pod/seed capsule in place on the plant with a square cut from a nylon stocking and twist tie works.
