Yes. I beleive that is called "viviparous", and there are a number of tropicals that will do this. My Dauben has done this a couple of times. I always intend to plant the baby, but I haven't done it yet. By all means,plant it and see if it grows! ;-)

yup, putting the leaf in another clay pot of water will encourage the viviparous plant to establish, how easy is that.

Though, take care the pot does not get too hot in the midday sun, vip's grow well when not exposed to excessive volatile temperatures
