I just bought Papa Gontier this winter and so far I love this rose. It has bloomed and bloomed so far; very pretty color, large bloom. Don't get much disease here so can't speak about that. I've been wanting this rose for a long time and i'm glad I finally got it!

That is so good to hear since I cannot find too much information about it. ARE states that it is red, but most of the roses on HMF are pink. Is your red?

I have four Blush Noisette. They are all disease free, smell gorgeous and bloom for most of the year.
They have been planted now for two years and are about 6 feet high and 5 feet wide. They are no problem, just lovely.
My Papa Gontier, started to grow well and flower, but just suddenly died for no reason that I can fathom.
Now all I have of it, is these photos.

Daisy, those are so beautiful. It is awful to lose a rose for no reason. I sure hope that does not happen to me.

Lewane,That is an alstromeria. I'm afraid I have forgotten which one.
They last for ages in water. But don't cut them, pull them.

Sammy, in my garden I would say Papa Gontier is a medium pink. I planted Zepherine Drouhin next to him and they are almost the same color, if that helps. However, we have bright sunshine almost all the time with very little cloud cover so that may make a difference. I think this rose will be one of my favorites.
