Hartwood's Hollywood & Small World

I just had to share.

I have read Connie's posts about her work on the roses at Hollywood Cemetery and had checked out some of her blogs on it. In an effort to procrastinate the bill paying chore in front of me this afternoon I googled: "Hollywood Cemetery VA". When it popped up as being in Richmond I went to the website knowing my grandmother was born in Richmond in 1893.

Sure enough I found her bother, my great uncle who I remember visiting as a child. He was a member of the House of Burgess--a matter of pride in our family of reprobates! ;-) One of my bothers is named for him.

Then I found my father's best friend and cousin buried beside 2 of his 3 wives. Technically he's my double first cousin once removed. Another of my brothers was named after him.

Then I think I may have found my great grandmother--but I need to go back and check some dates to confirm. I found at least 5 family members that I'm positive about. How cool is that?!

I haven't been to Richmond since I was a small child, but it may be time to contemplate a trip to see the roses and the wonderful work being done there. Thank you Connie!
