I'm not certain, but could it be an Ilex vomitoria yaupon, yaupon holly? It looks like some of the ones that I have growing in my yard.

So, you are sure it is an Ilex, just not sure of the species? Perhaps scan a couple of the leaves so we can see them close up.

What is the growth habit of this plant? It's impossible to tell from the image.
