Bird's nest inside my zipper greenhouse!

I just went outside to check on my Vintage Gardens bands inside the zipper greenhouses on my front porch, and inside a 1g pot of Deja Bleu, there is a bird's nest! It kind of surprised me because I just put that greenhouse up last weekend. The bird had even used some of the packing matierial from Bluestone Perennials order that I hadn't finished cleaning up yet (shredded newspaper, & some moss I had used as mulch to over winter some of my gallon pots...etc). I moved the other plants off the top shelf and left this one alone, but now what??? I need to water the other plants, but I don't want to disturb the nest. I checked and there's no eggs yet, but it looks like the nest is almost done....any suggestions???

It's in the one on the left. I guess it preferred the shaded Tractor Supply greenhouse to the Lowe's clear one...

Since there are no eggs yet I'd go ahead and get it out of there. Otherwise you won't be able to tend to that Deja Blue plant for months and it will die. Take it out and keep the cover zipped for a while and the bird should pick a new place to nest. Don't worry about the bird. Nests get disturbed and they have to start over all the time in nature. But doing it now before the eggs are laid is best.

I feel terrible taking it out! but you're right, Deja Bleu doesn't stand a chance without me being able to water it. I dont want to zip the greenhouses shut because its already getting into the 80's here, but I think I may put some bird netting over them to prevent them from nesting again. ...and by the way, I have around 5 actual birdhouses in my front yard and I think there's still some vacancies! Maybe whatever it is will just relocate to one of them....

some birds build several nests (wrens for example) selecting the best one out of the bunch for the eggs - I agree, move it now before it makes a decision which will impact on you and your rose.

Well, I removed it tonight. I think it may have belonged to a chickadee that was stalking me while I was cleaning it out (or maybe it was my guilty conscience).

Besides, we have bigger fish to fry. I was just outside on the front porch (again) and something is apparently living in the soffits above the porch. Whatever it was ran across the vinyl soffits and was heavy enough to actually make them move...so I'm thinking either a possum or raccoon. I don't think my rosie friends will be able to help me with this one :( Ugh....why do the animals mistake me for SnowWhite???

LOL...yep that's part of my pot ghetto on the floor in front of them :) There's also 2 more this size in the back, two 4x6 in the back, and one "real" greenhouse with actual panels and vents still boxed in my garage. That one is 8x12 I think. :)

That's the kind I have too, the clear one from Biglots. I got it cheap during the friends and family sale. I put my house roses straight into it, and it made their leafs a little burned at first even though I watched them carefully, but I think they are used to it now.
