Ernest Vash-- Historical Roses, Painesville Ohio-- who back in the 70's had all the Bucks, early Austins like Constance Spray, Alchymist, Elegance (the yellow Brownell climber) and many many shrubs. Great list of rugosas. Back in those days, he and Carl Pallek (which seems to be Palatine now) were my only suppliers unless I got really desperate and tried to oder from Hortico.

I miss Roch Rollin, too, but also Stefan Brede Lura, and European contributors like Pierre Lauwers and Etienne Bouret. I know they are all active in other forums but they might look in here sometimes!

I would love to hear again from these folks on the forum.

Michael you are still good for a laugh ... as I look at the gothic roll call intro from a monty python slant ... "bring out the dead" would be my chant as I make my rounds with my wagon and my bell clanging ... they will not come back ... and besides the new are vibrant and exciting group thirsting for knowledge and shared experiences .. the valued and noble others have gone on to origami.
