HFGH roof vent panel

During the summer I take a couple of the roof panels off of the GH & cover the roof with shade cloth. Our temps get over 100 degrees here. Well, a wood rat figured out a way to climb the shade cloth & get in the GH. He loves tomatoes! Today I cut a piece of hardware cloth the same size as the roof panel, put it in place, & used a few of the clips to keep it in. It worked! The hardware cloth is stiff enough to replace the polycarbonate panel with no problem. I think I will cut a triangle shape panel to fit the peak over the door, too. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. It won't keep out bugs but it will provide a good vent without the rodents & birds getting in.
