Insulation tape for HFGH 6x8

Hi guys! Thought that I would pass along some information that has helped me out. We are building the Harbor Freight 6x8. I searched and searched for an alternative to the weatherstrip tape (the cost of the greenhouse was rising and wanted to save some $!). I found the Armaflex Insulation Tape at Home Depot. It is $6.77 for 30'. I cut the roll into 2 strips, so I am getting 60' for $6.77. I used 5 rolls, so my total cost was around $35.00. We put the tape around all 4 edges of the poly panels. (The edge that faces the inside).

Wanted to update on the insulation tape. Last night, DH was trying to get the 2 windows put together but they wouldn't fit. They were too thick with my insulation tape on them. He had to cut about 1/4" off around the edges. Does that make sense?

If I had it to do over again, I would still use the tape on the two 5A panels, but I wouldn't line it up against the edge of the panel.

I know that I'm not describing it very well; I probably sound like the people that wrote the dang directions for the greenhouse!!! LOL!!

Are you saying he cut 1/4" off the polycarb sheets? I used the insulation on the aluminum, pushed against the polycarb. That worked OK.

We removed 1/4" of the insulation tape off of the poly. It just was too thick to slide into the window frame. I should have taken a picture as I am terrible at describing things!
