Crossing canes what to do?

My Maria Stern is growing out great with several good buds now. I noticed that she put out a couple of very strong canes that are now terminating in a bud at about 4 ft tall. The problem is that the new canes cross not only eachother but one older cane. Is it too late to prune off the older one? Should I even bother worrying about it now? Just prune in spring next year? I'm only worried that the crossing canes could do damage over winter.

BTW, when I pruned this spring, I did prune out any inward growing budeyes, but she is determined to do what she wants anyway lol.

Thanks

Cathy
