Live Oak Question - New Leaves Late

A while ago I posted pictures of Live Oak trees that we have covering a log cabin out in the woods.

The large one on the west side of the cabin always gets it's new leaves a month or two later then the rest of the Live Oaks around the house.

This is the one that has that funny hole in it and I was wondering if this late bloom would mean that it is sick or just because it is slow?

It's been like this for years.
