Brought this saw new in 1971 for about 115 bucks (makes it 38 years old and it still will work all day. Have only changed the bar once and the chain a couple of times. Cleaned the carb couple of times and redone the fuel lines last year and resealed the gas/oil tank that's built into the casings. Some may not ever seen one of these or know what it is?? the housing not plastic it's Magnesium and manual oiler that still works. one of the lightest saw made back in the day.

probably been stored for 20 years when I had no need to use it.

I have a similar saw badged as a Husky 35 that looks almost new. A customer traded it in because he had difficulty starting it. I had no problem, I think he did not like the noise. It is loud. Great camping saw.

Canguy, this one is LOUD also and powerful for it size, slices throuht oak like knife through a cake (but, any saw with a sharp chain in the right hands should do that) The L with the lightning strike in the middle should give this saw away.

I worked for a Stihl dealer in the 70's. I bought 2 saws, 045AVE/20" and 020AVE Pro ( Don't see this one very often ) Used the 045 for years and it still remains ALMOST scratch free. The 020 is still in the box, never seen a fuel mix. No idea why I'm saving it, and NO, I don't want to sell it.

rc, the saw was built here on the wet coast by Quadra Manufacturing. The company was set up by ex PM Canadian people when Skil closed that plant closed and production moved to Chicago.Quadra fell on hard times and was taken over by Electrolux but eventually disappeared. Yours is likely a Lombard, they were re badged for a number of different brands.

Yep, built in canada, atleast my model was. Lombard little lightning late 1970 model.

got a 30 yr old Stihl 041 Farmboss. I used to cut 5 cord a yr with it. Still cut about a cord a year with it. Most parts are original. the oiler drive went out on it and after about 5 yrs of down time, I fixed it with a piece of 8 penny nail. Other than replacing the bar and a few chains the most expensive part Ive replaced was the starter dog.

I still have my 20 inch poulan counter-vibe purchased in 1982.
Split the case to re-seal the oiler 10 years ago. Works great with an oregon bar and chain.
