Hello. I am really loving polyanthas. Particularly for their size, everblooming and most of those I have are sweetly fragrant. Wondering if anyone had experience with the remaining Vintage polys?

I have most of them and hey all do very well for me. Some blackspot, but not too bad. And the deer don't eat them.

I bought Britannia last year and I love it. But, that is a matter of taste. I like the single red flowers with with white eyes--it is bright and cheerful. And the flowers last forever. In my garden it is very healthy. HMF says that it is good in a container so I am going to try and grow it that way.

I've had Katherina Zeimet for a couple of years now. It started as a bareroot grafted from Pickering, but when I decided to grow only own-root roses I was able to root a cutting of it no problem, which can't be said of many rose varieties. My experience with polyanthas and fragrance is different from yours--I find that most lack fragrance, and Katharina is an exception as she does have a nice, moderate fragrance. She does bloom almost non-stop.

I just recieved my Lady Anne Kidwell from Vintage, and she hasn't bloomed yet. I hear her color is fabulous and unique, though. One thing to think about perhaps--the Rogue Valley clone of this rose has developed the RMV, and the Vintage one apparently has not, so you might want to either grab one for that reason, or be suspicious that it might have the virus without symptoms, depending on whether your a pessimist or optimist.

I love White Cecil Brunner! Really cute bloom form, but not your typical polyantha mini-globes.

I've been wanting Lady Ann Kidwell, but I know that other nurseries have it, so it will have to wait :)

I love my Lady Ann Kidwell -- uniquely beautiful, a real favorite. The Vintage clone that I have does have virus, however.

Thanks everyone for sharing the info and opinions. I really admire Mme. Norbert.

Susan, I am very fond of Borderer. I just received Mrs. William G. Koning and think it's going to be a lovely rose. I grew White CB and agree that's a nice rose too. Frankly, I haven't met any polys I don't like; they are a favorite class of mine. I'd like to have some of the Kosters but haven't ordered any yet. What did you pick? Mme. NL?

Here are the ones from your list that I grow:
Charles Walker's Mignonette is charming. I love the tiny blooms. It grows well but stays small for a small place.
    Pa Pa Hemeray Pretty. Healthy.
The Gift you must be prepapred for. It wants to grow very large and is very prickly.
Lady Ann Kidwell is one of my favorite roses. It really looks more like a tea rose. I've grown it for years without problems.
Katherina Zeimet is taking forever for me to grow. It's still under two feet tall.
Is Snowprincessin still on the list? I think it is especially pretty. It has these beautiful cupped blooms that don't completely open.

We, too, grow 'Lady Ann Kidwell,' and have for years.

It is a handsome plant, disease-free in our climate, and a very dependable bloomer.

During this recent high, hot wind event, I learned something about LAK that I had not known before. If you pick her as the blooms are barely opening, she has a terrific vase life. I have some blooms that have been in a vase now for three days, in hot weather, and they still look good.

Here are 3 sprays of LAK, picked in bud, with one "Benny Lopez," also picked just opening -- and I have it in other vases here, as well. I'm going to try a vase of LAK with some small fuchsias. -)

FWIW, I don't recall where we obtained LAK, but though she has never shown a sign of virus, I am confident that it is there.

    Well gee, LAK is beautiful!
Gean, I am growing Verdun because I admired it in your garden on HMF. I am undecided on which polyanthas to order...But I appreciate all the info on them.
I'm really bummed I missed out on the red china Jeri raved about.
