Help.. IDing Crocus Rose vs Teasing Georgia vs Charlotte

Hi all..

I received one or more of these in a pot years ago. One is planted in my garden, one is in a pot.

What are the characteristics of these or how would I tell them apart?

I have one I assume might be graham thomas, but then again it could be charlotte... (just from looking at HMF).

I have a paler light light apricot/blush rose that I dont know what it is.. is Crocus rose this shade?

I am just lost and would love anyone to chime in how their roses are as far as bloom shape (cupped, many petals, flatter bloom).. maybe I can ID these.

I will get pics and post if I can figure out how :)

TG is more of a rambler than a bush. She will put out long canes. The flowers are clustered in candelabras. They are yellow, no apricot. The blooms are quartered and shatter quickly. The leaves are small.

Crocus and Charlotte both throw really long canes here in Texas. I've never grown TG.
As far as the colors, Charlotte is more of a light yellow while Crocus Rose is more of a cream color. The big difference is in the shape of the bloom. Charlotte is cupped and more open on the inside than Crocus Rose is. Crocus Rose starts out with a tight center of petals. That might not make too much sense, but with a picture I could tell them apart with no problem. Neither have any blush color to them.

I grow all three. Crocus is a young ownroot so not much experience with it. Crocus is a lighter shade of yellow fading to cream as the bloom ages. Charlotte for me is a clear buttery cupped yellow with lighter outer petals. Mine has been more vase like so far. TG is much more peachy yellow. TG is a HUGE full mountain of English rose. After 3 yrs of whacking back 8' octopus canes I gave up it won the battle for real estate. It covers itself in blooms hundreds at a time during flushes.

    Marleah -

I also grow all 3 and they are distinct:

    1. Crocus Rose is not yellow, it is apricot/buff fading to cream. Like Carrie Jo says, it starts out tight and opens flat, sometimes with a green pointel. It always blooms in clusters. Foliage is small and glossy. Growth upright, never needs staking.

    2. Charlotte is medium yellow, very cupped and much more double than Graham Thomas - you never see the stamens on Charlotte. Also, the blooms last much longer on the bush than GT, which in my experience shatter (too) quickly. Growth upright, sometimes long blind shoots which need to be cut back.

    3. Teasing Georgia is lighter yellow, fading to cream on the outer petals. Blooms very double and open very flat. Never doesn't need support!

    Hope this helps!

George, I'm stumped. How did you know it was Carrie Jo?

LOL Carrie, not to worry - I'm not a stalker or anything. I could swear that you signed some of your posts that way!!! I am a big fan of your garden, though.
