I bet I'm the first person here

I bet I'm the first person here that has read 90% of the posts! My boss has been out of town this week so I've read approx. 28 hours of these posts. However, I do have 2 questions.

1. What do y'all mean by browns and greens?

2. Can you compost cardboard that has coloring on it?

Now, I am TRULY, TRULY joking when I ask those questions, just letting you know I've read and read and learned a ton!

I really wanted to post that when I came home from work today, and stuck my hand in the middle of the compost, it was HOT HOT HOT and I was HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. I have become a compost wacko/addict in just a few weeks.

I used to come home after work, drink a beer and play a computer game. Now I come home from work, drink a beer and stand over the compost chopping up twigs into little pieces!

I was dreading the fall leaves, now I'm wondering what's taking them so darn long to fall. Ok, this is long enough.

Keep chippin' away at it fellow composters and may all your days be brown and green!

Right now mine are mainly yellow.............my Norway Maple is starting to give me some leaves :-)

welcome to the family bradley, but sorry your wrong---don't think I've missed a post-----some make me laugh, some are quite informative, and some are, well, you've read them....LOL They're just what they're supposed to be, a forum......

Hi Bradley and welcome! Now, are you ready to start scrounging materials? It's a whole new aspect of composting and even more fun. And bound to get you even more sticks to chop while enjoying that beer.

Actually, on my way home, I saw a roll of brown package wrapping paper on the freeway, I was so tempted to get it.

It's a totally different way of thinking and, it catches you by surprise! It's a good thing.

can't wait til the city leaf vacuum truck brings all the large hauls of leaves to my dads backyard! I will NEVER run out of leaves, you should see all he still has from last year, maybe i'll get pics this year.
