Yup! I put out petunias, lavatera and 6-year old cleome seed (prayed a little over that one!). Took me a while to get started this year, but the bug seems to have bitten now!

I have 12 more containers draining right now. Heading for the Snapdragon, Aquilegia (6 varieties), Eryngium (third year trying), and Helenium seeds. It's only 9:30 here and my whole day will be spent in the dirt. YES! Hooray for March!

No! It was sunny and in the 30s yesterday, so I reckon we'll all be expecting nasty weather come the 31st.

This morning, though, I found a few German chamomile and catnip sprouts struggling up through the mud in the front beds. How they managed it I have no idea, since only about the top inch or so of ground is thawed. Also, I still have a fair amount of this German chamomile seed if anyone would like some. Ultra-hardy garden chives, too.

It's 45F already this morning, so maybe I'll find a crocus tomorrow!

I think I'll be playing in the dirt today too! I played with my sunflower and morning glory sprouts last night. I had started them inside in peat pots, they were ready to go into containers. I go to my sons school at lunchtime and collect all the little milk cartons before they get thrown away.I know I started them kinda early but I hardly got to enjoy them last year:-( I don't have any sprouts outside yet there's too much snow still(3ft) YUCK

Well, yesterday was our lamb; it was 74 degrees!! a new record high, btw - and today it is a howling blizzard with already about 2 inches of snow on the ground and 30 mph winds. Weird but true, this is how our Colorado spring-times go! Got 14 containers done yesterday but I am not even opening the door today.

March arrived like a lamb here. But to go out like a lion, if at all, it would have to be a weakling, runt of the litter type which would have a short life. Our average high for Mar. 31 is 54, average low 34.

It's about time this ice and snow melted! It's in the 50s now, and little remaining snow mounds are quickly melting.
