    Ya-ha-whoey!!!
I don't have any sprouts. Got 2+ inches so snow last night and it just stopped snowing at 8:15 this morning.
Enjoy watching your sprouts grow - cannot wait for mine!!

    Thanks, guys :-)
    Some mildly analytical stuff:
    1. The containers that have sprouted are all part of a the ones I grouped together in big garbage bags...I guess that ups the temps a bit, having the big plastic around them. I put a lot of containers in the bags for easy transport and for dog protection (from picking up a container and running off with it...which has happened before). Not all the containers in the bags have sprouted (there's a whole lot more of them), but those on the list above have.

    2. The sprouted containers are also with a group of containers that are in Southern exposure. ( I have other bags of containers on my porch, in Northern exposure). This proves why it could be bad to have them in Southern exposure, because now, I'm more inclined to worry, since we now have snow and it's going to be in the 20s or lower tonight. But then, the ouotdoor temps have been in the low to mid 20s every night for the past two weeks and that didn't keep them from sprouting.
..but I'm not looking at those containers or opening them up...not for a few days, at least. Whatever will be will be...and I have a feeling a lot of those sprouts will be just fine.

--I think I do need to slip a thermometer inside one of those bags of containers, though. I'm curious as to how much warmer it is in there.

LMBO!!! I can just picture the dog running, container in mouth and you running behind him!...lol...thanks for the giggles Linda! :D

I am curious about the conatiner temps also,if I stick my finger down inside one of the jugs I can tell there is a huge temp difference. I keep saying I am not looking at mine everyday and I just end up out there looking at them anyway!:)

Funny, I was picturing the same thing, dog running with container in mouth and Linda in hot pursuit after her seedlings...*LOL* I have a dog too, a chocolate Lab who's a very good boy but he can get into mischef too and I can totally visualize this scene, been there, done that!

    Congrats on the sprouts!

    Linda,

My Lab gently moves the containers around for me. She'll pick them up slowly and start moving away with her head down but eyes fixed on me. She knows she's not suppose to do this. Then I'll say her name and she'll quietly place it down. I think she'd like to 'participate'. I call her my gentle giant since she's a huge mixed breed dog and some think the other parent might be Rhodesian Ridgeback. Don't know what I'd do if she started tossing them about. :O)

Glad I could give you all a laugh :-)

Hmmm...it must be a Lab thing...the culprit (that I KNOW of) in the past was my SIL's dog, who is a Lab. I only knew she had run off with it because my SIL came to me with an empty, labeled jug and said, "I think this is yours". We both had a laugh. Glad we found out where the container went before I knew it was missing! On the other hand, I have no idea where Shadow dumped the contents...could it be she was just doing a "Plunk and Run"? lol

Yep, she must have read Bakemom's posts about plunk and run. Those Labs are just too smart! :O)
