i don't remember seeing them tunnel thru my garlic or onions over the years but i never read that either of these will discourage them from being in the garden. my garden is 1200 sq ft and the alliums are 90 sq ft and the moles are the garden. even harpoon traps have not stopped them tho mouse traps at exit holes have worked. that said they are in the lawn more so than the garden.

NO, It's NOT true. (I wish it was),
The moles tunnel all through my garlic beds in search of worms and grubs that live in the organic material(compost).

I have about 70 bulbs planted over 4 different locations in my small garden. I have voles, not moles. With that being said, the voles leave my garlic alone but they are eating everything else.

So I would say, sorry no it does not.

iirc, voles eat roots so i am not surprised they leave the garlic alone. moles eat grubs and worms so maybe tunneling under the garlic doesn't bother them. they are disgusting pests, i can't imagine the tons of worms these vermin eat. moles have extremely high metabolisms and eat almost constantly. the only way to get rid of them is to eliminate their food source but i refuse to spread pesticides on my lawn so for years i've had them making a mess out of the grass.

It's not true. They destroyed my beetroot, potatoes, carrots and my garlic as well.

It is true! i got rid of them in my yard smash the cloves, and place them in their tunnels, not in their mounds! i experimented between my front and back lawns used this methodbin front and traps and poison in back yard, no moles in my front yRd this year
