the leaves look as though they are burnt,could it be from the ortho?i have 3 dogwoods and the tips of the leaves are burnt,but that is from it being so hot here in louisiana,i took all the leaves off that were brown and they have beautiful fall color leves sprouting out.

Stop with the sprays of whatever kind.

The leaves show the classic symptoms of drought stress. The problem is that it ran short of water and may still be that way.

Get water into the original rootball. You may need to do so every day for a while.

Yeh looks like drought stress to me too. The natural stands of Dogwoods in the Raleigh area are doing the same thing but on a much larger scale. Just water it.

I would only spray established trees and then only if really necessary.

In my experience, dogwoods seem to suffer more shock from planting than most of my other trees. I agree that it needs water and it should bounce back next year. I have one that looks great in it's second year and one that looks just like yours that was planted this June.

If you don't see any bugs crawling around, you shouldn't be spraying! Spraying is not a good thing, and should only be done if a plant is crawling with bugs, not just one or two.
