Ive heard cases of people planting Moso bamboo and it being just a "living stick" where it never shoots but stays alive until the cane finnaly dies of old age. Well can a transplanting "become" a living stick after its made a couple of shoots? The reason I ask is some moso that I planted has produced shoots for 3 years in a row however last year didnt shoot at all. I blaimed it not shooting on the fact it was very dry durring the time it usualy shoots. However this year its not sent any shoots up either while 2 very small clumps that I have set out already have shoots about 6" off of the ground. Could the plant have become a "living stick"? also the 3 years that it did shoot the new growths have grown in size drasticly from the first time it put up a growth so by that I took that it was happy but now Im beginning to wonder. thanks in advance for any info.
