That is a gorgeous, heavy blooming vine, Mary! Are you sure you want to remove it? I've always heard that when crossbones blooms, the hummers arrive.

That is one gorgeous vine!!! How can you think about removing it??! Oh well but it sure is a beauty! I had one once but it didn't survive..it is borderline hardy in my zone.

I would definitely keep that, for the hummers alone.

I think the hummingbirds will use it eventually, Mary. It's gorgeous, so, if it were me, I'd sure keep it!

Not absolutely certain but I believe this was the third year following my planting. My vine was very vigorous. If you don't have a big area for it, you will constantly be trimming to try and keep it in check.

I have had a crossvine for perhaps eight years and I have to say that I have been disappointed with it. It flowers beautifully, but the hummingbirds don't seem to like it. This has been the experience of others on the hummer forums. Also, mine has one good bloom and then afterwards there aren't many to speak of.
