Stop watering, Cut it back. Is your humidity high this time of the year? If so, cut down on the watering, let it go dormant, the more water the more it will drop leaves. It's telling you to leave me alone or change my soil, I'm root bound and need a larger container. All plants drop leaves, we drop hair. They are basically winter growers here in Calif. We are hot and dry in the summer from June 25 through Oct 15, I just don't water, they are succulents, that carry water in their leaves and stems, they also take in moisture at night (CAM)if you have high humidity this time of the year. We have only 5% at this time of the year, and still I don't water them, mine are also pot bound. Norma

Thanks Norma. I knew it would drop leaves, I was just worried about how many leaves it was dropping at one time. I took it out of it's pot today, along with the other plants that were living with it, and repotted it by itself with fresh soil. I did not water it and am just waiting for it to recover. It can get pretty humid here. Thanks so much for the words of wisdom!

My jades that grew like crazy from Sept or Oct until around March or April, are now slowing down drastically. Except for two of them. I'm going to cut back on watering the slow ones. If they don't want the water, why give it to them?

It's not that humid here in Michigan yet, but it will be in the upcoming weeks.
