I'm an avid gardener who has never tried growing from seed but I was lucky enough to visit a nursery that had a Flying Dragon poncirus trifoliata that had fruit on the ground. They let me take a few to try, I planted them in Jan and now have about 20 small seedlings sprouting. At this stage they are about 2-3" tall and are currently straight as an arrow.
My question is to any of you who have grown from seed, when did you first notice contortion developing in a plant that was a FD? I do know that there's a only 50/50 chance from seed, and I'm assuming probably less in the real world, of getting one but I can't find any detail about when the contorted plants start show their true nature.
Thanks so much,
Krazy
