Frankly, I find Meyer's lemon to have strongly aromatic flowers. But if you are interested in the fragrance of leaves as well, try the Kaffir lime. It is the quintessential ingredient to many Thai dishes--it's leaves being used similar to the use of Bay leaves in the West. Good luck!

Thanks for comments. I don't know why, but my meyer just isn't that scented. If I get up close to the flower, it definitely has a nice aroma. I'm looking for that "smell it from 4 feet away" lemon smell. I'll look into the Kaffir.

I would think a valley filled with any blooming lemon would provide "the sweetest smell anyone could imagine". Maybe it is not the kind of lemon but you don't have enough trees for that sweet smell?
Most of my citrus orchard is in bloom including the Meyer's lemons. Sleeping with the windows open this time of year is providing "the sweetest smell" you are speaking about.
