Yes, Miles Anderson of Miles 2 Go, sells long and short tweezers. I use "borrowed" medical equipment like bayonet forceps, etc. Also, food tongs work very well for grasping cactus as does folded newspaper.

You can't do better than hemostats. I have curved and straight, 8" and 12".

I use a tool that is made to pull the hook from far inside a fish. They are sold at most fishing stores.

Thanks for all the good ideas. Does anyone have an opinion as to creating tools, like the ideas mentioned, into a package or kit that would sell specifically for cacti? I would seriously like to try. Just dreaming of course, but would be nice to try when I retire and have more time.

Doubt it would be worthwhile, unless you add a new must-have tool/appliance, which doesn't already exist. Can't beat kitchen tongs for handling small cacti, and you can't beat hemostats for weeding and cleaning debris. What else ya got?

I have all my father-in-law's surgery implements and I just LOVE his long hemostats. Still trying to figure out an alternative use for the chest spreader.

I bend out the prongs on the barbeque prongs to make them more gentle grabbers.

If you look for tool kits for planted aquariums you will find a kit that has most everything you could need, foot long tweezers both straight and bent, long scissors to take cuttings, even a long spatula thing to smooth out gravel mulch.

I also like to get really thick scraps of leather to use for handling the pokey guys.
