Yes, my house, slightly different angle for photos. I would have liked it lower, as far as not having to crane my neck, but didn't think the TV should be closer to the fireplace. Coffee table is just large square wooden "box", with draws on opposite sides. It's good for resting your feet & storing things. There's also a hexagonal end table that's from the same manufacturer. Have them since 1981. I'm going nuts; I can't find an entire folder of "before & after" photos on my computer!!!

kanoopriya, you have a difficult room and tradeoffs will have to be made. For one thing, an uncentered loveseat with centered art will unbalance that back wall to the point of anxiety. So yes, I think a better option is to have the two loveseats facing each other across the fireplace so you can center them both along with the art. Second, your loveseat is narrow and can't really support a wide piece of art. Art that is too big will dwarf your furniture and further unbalance the space. I like the mirror very much, but I think it's a bit too large. This might be ameliorated a bit with drapes that go to the ceiling and cover the edges of the window. Your current drapes just do not fit the space well; they look skimpy and disheveled. And whatever happened to the palm you said you got? A tall indoor palm might help you gain the height you need, though it too will make your furniture look small.

@Buckeye Girl The percentage of solutions here that assume hand-washed dishes won't be dripping much has surprised me, which is why I'm adding a comment to the 166 already given. Maybe those solutions without much drip area management are for people rinsing in ultra-hot water in dry climates. Like many of the comments above, our remodel will have a large sink to allow an in-sink drying rack that will solve the problem of where water will drain. It seems to me that the cabinet dry racks or on-counter mats will still have a problem of dripped water unless the items are partially towel dried prior to racking. It's actually a great idea to boost speed of drying to partially towel dry items before they finish up air-drying, and I'll be including a multi-bar towel rack near my kitchen to allow for more wet towel airing, which is an entirely separate topic with threads at Houzz devoted to it, where to put your wet towels. However, pre-drying also takes more time, and sometimes you'd like to just place the wet items out and move on to your next task. I appreciated the comment of the person whose care for several children pressed minutes out of the day for extra work, and I'm in the situation of caring for a paralyzed family member which has a similar effect. In some life phases, if you can save seconds or minutes on tasks, it snowballs into felt aid by the end of the day. Everyone has different processes, but at my house we enjoy saving a little on energy costs by running the dishwasher for smaller items that benefit from being sanitized and hand-washing large pots and storage containers as you do. We use lukewarm water for washing and rinsing in the sink, and many of our storage containers have crevices that can't be dried even if towels were to be used, so air-drying can take up to 24 hours due to those factors plus our humid climate. In our new remodel, I chose a Havens Metal 42" workstation sink, the largest that would fit in our small kitchen, and will devote one side of it to an in-sink drying rack. We purchased an 18" Havens Metal strainer to serve double use for prepping food and dish drying. The roll-up racks pictured in several comments above could also be used. Havens used to make sinks for Rachielle and offers a bit better pricing with their own products now., and Havens quality is outstanding with a lifetime warranty. Best wishes on your remodel.
