What looks like a green ladybug?

I am gonna kill em whatever they are! I have been seeing a lot of them lately and thought they were some sort of young ladybug but I just saw one eating holes in my CG bloom and one had eaten half of my noid pink bloom and I have holes all in my pretty Shredded white blooms. Do praying mantis eat them? I'm moving them to the backyard if they do. I think thats what happened to the Naughty Nick blooms. It had a bunch of them on it and the leaves look like swiss cheese. Whaaaaahaaa. I hate bad bugs.

oh I am so sorry Kristy. But you are NOT ALONE" right now there are so many hungry bugs out there :-( But I do not think that PM eat anything but their partners and bad bugs lol
Hope you find the culprit (spelling?)

Maybe cucumber beetles? I had spotted & striped ones & they chowed down big time.

This is a bad bug. Its eating holes in everything. I smashed one and left its dead body to warn the others, lol. They better get out of my yard when I go to smashing bugs with my bare fingers its getting desperate, lol. I found a dang grasshopper in the front yard too. It was weird colored. I thought it was the brown praying mantis when I took the pic then when I came in I saw what it was now I can't find it again. Dang!

Sorry to hear you are getting some unwelcomed guests. I do hope you can get to them before they do more damage. That's heartbreaking. :(

I know what you are talking about but don't know the name and they are evil. Daniella where are you? We need a bug ID.

Spotted cucumber beetle. I have striped ones too. They aren't usually on the same flower. They ruined most of my pictures this year. Last year, I don't remember seeing them at all (& they weren't on the cukes I planted). They get smart & you have to hold your hand under them when you go to squish them because they will just drop off.

yup dang cuke beetles...If you look at my post with pix I just put up last night, there is one in my triple yellow dat. Man those guys eat so much so FAST!!!!! They don't cooperate much when you are trying to catch them, lol. I think they know that if I get them they are fish food!!

I saw one and only one not too long ago. I didn't do anything because I thought it was some sort of ladybug. Darn it, I hope it's not hiding somewhere multipling. I'll know next time, it's a bad bug. Kristy, I hope you get every last one of those darn things.

Oh, lovely I just read they transmit bacterial wilt. They better stay away from my squash. I got 3 of the little suckers last night and a new crop of green worms exploded with the rain. Are these things ever gonna finish for the year? I don't mind as much for the leaves to have holes but when they eat the flowers it makes me mad. I have another big bud on Naughty Nick and I swear if they get that one I'm gonna spray every bug spray I can find on them, lol. Been trying not to spray for anything other than mites and have left those alone too since the praying mantis moved in.

Ladybugs are round-shaped. These things are long beetle-shaped critters. Do a search on ladybug & check out the pictures so you know what to squish. Their larva look like little black orange alligators.

We should all know our local bugs - the good & the bad ones. If you leave the bad ones & kill off the good ones, you will have real problems (personal observance - bad bugs multiply 3 times as fast). During the winter months when you can't go outside, educate yourself so you'll be ready next year.

They fooled me. Last year they had stripes, lol. I don't kill any bugs until I find out what they are or I actually see them eating my flowers, lol. Leaves I can deal with but not the blooms I have waited so long for, lol. I actually took one at the shop and put it on a plant that had aphids, lol.
