It happened yesterday. Way off topic - financial

I hope this isn't too off topic, but I thought it was interesting, not to mention good for me personally. We have some money (a teacher-sized amount) invested in a couple of mutual finds, and like everyone's, they took a big hit when the market tanked. Rather than ditch them, I took the let-her-ride approach, and as of yesterday their value has worked it's way back to what it was before the big loss.

I know that this doesn't mean a whole lot and a tons of folks are still hurting, but I thought it was a sign that things may be improving. It cheered me up quite a bit, and I hope you find it encouraging.

I hope that no one takes this as me bragging about my financial skills, because I'm only a babe in the woods at this stuff. I once owned 80 whole shares of Apple stock, which I paid $24 a share for. I sold it at $32 and thought I was a genius. Then the iPod came out and Apple stock went up up and away.

My current scheme of making money by selling cut flowers hasn't made me rich yet either. Maybe this summer. Ha!
