Ho! Ho! Ho! Anyone up to our annual card exchange?

Hi All! It's that time again - holiday card exchange, that is. Do any of you want to do it again this year? I don't mind sending out the addy list again. Just email me if you have a new one.

For those of you who aren't familiar with our card exchange, this is how it goes. We either make or buy holiday greeting cards for everyone participating. Basically no different than sending out cards/letters to family and friends only these go to your Cottage pals. You'll need to send me your home addy, aka snail mail addy. I then compile a list of the addys and send them via email to all who want to play. : )

Many of us make our cards but as I mentioned above they can be store bought. It really doesn't matter as it's the thought that counts. I like to have all the names and addys by the end of Nov. so we all have time to make/buy and send our cards to one another.

If you'd like to join in the fun, send me your name and addy at: angelcub at mac dot com.

Hope to hear from all of you! : )

    count me in!

I sent you an e-mail, Diana.

You and Tracy have kept the spirit of cottage garden forum alive with the annual seed swap and Christmas card exchange.

I hope you both know you have started a CG tradition :-D

    Big hugs to you both!

I'm definitely in. I was just thinking about this the other day. All my info is still the same. Thanks for organizing this again this year Diana. It's really becoming a nice tradition.

"You and Tracy have kept the spirit of cottage garden forum alive with the annual seed swap and Christmas card exchange." Well said, Edna!!

Count me in again, Diana. Same information as in the prior years.

Get ready for glitter, cottage gardeners. :-)

    Hugs,
    Marilyn

Can I join and do my usual moping and whining about how much it hurts to be creative? Do I even have any glitter glue left?

I still have the past two sets of cards (and etc).
My info is the same, but I'll send you an e-mail directly. Or sooner.

    Hi Diana!
Yes, sign me up again too, please. Emailing you my address, just in case you need it.

I've got MY glitter at the ready.
Now all I need is a good idea to go with it.

Isn't there an old saying that if you can't be inventive, at least be sparkly!?

Thanks Diana for your efforts again this year!

    Woohoo!!!!
I'm there. All info is the same. Thank you dear friend for your invitation to jump on board. I too have saved all the cards.
Gotta prime my creative brain cell and get ready.

It's also Snownana time! So I'm getting all my "feffas" in a row.

    Happy T'day,
    georgeanne

I've saved both sets of cards, too! In fact, they are part of my annual Christmas decorating scheme.

    Patti,

"Isn't there an old saying that if you can't be inventive, at least be sparkly!? " I buy into that theory 100% ! :-)

Marilyn, If memory serves (and lately that is an iffy thing) those immortal words (or perhaps similar words arranged somewhat differently)were "uttered" by our own dear Kent, who, as chance would have it, is BOTH inventive AND sparkly.

I'm really looking forward to my December mailbox!

Count me in! Of course I still have the past two years worth of cards! LOVE THEM!!!

    Leasa

I have all my past cards too.

    Sparkles!!! bring 'em on!

I'd love to participate, maybe next year. A little bird has been whispering in my ear, we want knitted scarfs for Christmas. So it looks like I have to get busy and knit 4 maybe 5 scarfs in the next 3 or 4 weeks. I expect you guys to post pix so I can get an idea of what goes into making these cards, I've never attempted anything like this before :o).

    Annette

Oh count me in, too! I'll email you my new address. Thanks for doing this again Diana.

    Tracy

Oh, Annette, we'd LOVE knitted scarves! Ten to 20 scarves couldn't be too much work, could they? (You know I'm kidding!)

Patti, speaking of sparkles, I just found a site devoted to pysanky. Those would make great Christmas gifts! Some how I doubt I could achieve even one between now and Christmas, but with all the extra eggs it would be a shame not to try. Maybe I'll try egg mosaics this year instead. I wonder how well they'd travel?

    Festively gloomful,

Oh yes, Annette...we love scarves *lol*

Kent, you could always use feathers.

Annette, I just found a photo Leasa sent us last year, displaying all of our cards. The link is below. You'll need to scroll very near to the bottom of the thread.
Knowing the talent in this forum, I was very reluctant to participate, but I was so glad I did. It was such fun to receive all the wonderful cards. Some folks made them, some bought them, some bought them and altered them, and some people sent something different than cards. Some were just wonderful and others were really terrible (well, ONE was terrible) but strangely NO ONE CARED! Everyone loved them ALL.

So YES. Scarves would be good!
(or even cards if you can possibly squeeze yet another thing into your crazy holiday schedule!)

KENT! When I mentioned you in this thread earlier,I was thinking about YOU and pysanky, but I couldn't think what it was called other than "those Ukrainian eggs"! YES, you absolutely should try them!
Post pictures of the egg "before and after"! ;-)

YAY! Y'all want to do it again! : ))) It really is loads of fun getting the cards from all of you. And I have mine, too. I may have been on a purging binge the last few years but your cards are keepers!

Annette, we use the term "cards" loosely. They really can be any form you'd like. The first year I made mini quilts, and others have made ornament cards. Knitting is allowed, as is crocheting, beads, dried flowers, fabric, glitter, glue, string, photos, etc., etc., etc. : ) Anything goes - we're just sharing the spirit here! I hope you'll join us!

Slub, I saw a sign in a magazine that read "Santa, I can explain." I bet you had a few letters to Santa that began with a similar phrase. LOL! Now get thyself to Michael's before Marilyn buys up all the glitter! ; )

Vikki, I didn't get your email yet. Let me know if you're having a problem getting in touch, ok? Happy to have you join us!

Diana, going to break out the craft supplies!

    Bump!

I've made 20 cards hope I have 20 folks to give them to!

    Leasa

I actually think I may want to participate this year, if you folks don't mind. I'm not all that crafty, but I am creative. I'm sure I can come up with something. Could be fun.
Diana, I'll send you my info. Thanks!

    Diana,
Just re-sent my e-mail. Hope you get it this time. Let me know if you don't recieve it.

    Vikki

Diana, I got error messages on the e-mails I just sent to you. I used the @mac.com address??

    Vikki

Hi Vikki, no problem, I have your addy. You sent it when I emailed you about the hollyhock seeds. : )

Mr. M, happy to have you on board this year. Now play nice and don't be putting any of those scary ghoulish creatures in my card. ; )

Leasa, GO TO YOUR ROOM! LOL!

    Diana

    Annette

    Bump!

Anyone going to the AKC national dog show in Long Beach, CA??? stop by the English Foxhound booth and pick up a flyer I managed to get done in my spare time....at least say hi to the gals and pet the beautiful hounds. I'm pooped and I'm just getting a chance to check the Cottage Garden...Glad to see more folks signed up! Hope more will, it REALLY is the THOUGHT behind it that counts!
JOIN IN! Put a smile on your face each day when you get a card from a Cottage friend!

    Leasa

Hi Cathleen, yes, I still have your address. : )

Hi Annette, I didn't receive an email. Try again, ok? angelcub at mac dot com
I don't use the real symbols in the email addy on here because of spammers.

Leasa, it's so true the smile these cards bring to our faces. Heck, Mark even gets excited when he brings in the mail. He stands over me while I open the cards, excited to see what all the cottagers have sent. : )

I've got the list together and will send it out tomorrow night after I receive Annette's email with hers.

    Hugs, Diana

Hi Diana - yes, my e-mail is the same. This is going to be fun!

    Steven

I just downloaded "THE LIST" from my email.

    Thank you Diana!

    Patti

(One tiny error: it should be a double L in my last name :-)

Yay, just got the message. Now I need to start working on my cards. I only have THREE done so far. Uh-oh. I think I need to head to the craft store...

    Tracy

    Oh Goodie!

Mine will go in the mail on Monday!

    Leasa

Patti, so sorry about leaving the L out of your name. That's what happens when you proof-read after 10 p.m. ; )

I hope everyone was able to read the list ok. When I tried to copy/paste it into an email for one of you, some of the writing looked really large to me and a bit mixed up. I don't know why other than I have a new Mac with an old version of Word (which I loathe). I'll do better next time. : )
