Cove crown is among the more expensive choices. Flat stock that is overlapped will be the cheapest. Angled crown will be in the middle. The only way that any molding added at this stage will match those cabinets is if they are all painted. Wood changes color as it ages. Even if you had the same stain that was used on those cabinets, it would be different colors because of the age of the wood. If it’s custom stained to match the existing wood, the crown will continue to change over time and end up not matching. Given his lack of knowledge of local suppliers and everything else, I would not have confidence that he could either stain to match, or do a professional quality paint job. You may want to find an actual cabinet maker.

NOTE: If 2 adults don't have the same work schedule and are not in the space simultaneously 3 or 4 days of 7 each week, than I prefer the idea wacokid showed, I just did not find that picture on line. I like one sink just to the left or right of center and a raised counter situation for an adult(not one of those awful 30 inch high counters!)with a clear span of counter say 2/3 of your length available and than a dressing table for the remaining 1/3 of the length, that is midway between not too low and not tooo high. We use our dressing table area as a barber shop now and than for grandsons and a makeup mirror is available, as well as outlets for electrical curling iron or hair dryer for whomever needs it. One sink is enough fun to keep clean (since faucets are all now gold or silver in price), with a nice faucet and counter and because it is just off center, it's even good for bathing the infants or using as a changing table if need be.. It just depends on if you both need to be in that space at the same hour on at least an almost daily morning or evening basis. If not, saving that second drain is a sizable chunk of real money in construction these days.

Solar shades are the answer for windows they allow the view and control the heat and the damaging UV rays as for the front door a nice awning but IMO not that one.Some interesting landscaping would also be in the cards and a walkway to the front door from the street

I hadn't really thought about it, but I must really love them. 4 of the 5 houses I have lived in as an adult have had floor to ceiling windows. They can sometimes present a challenge for arranging furniture, but they are such a great way to merge the outdoor spaces with indoor spaces. In most of these houses I have designed garden areas meant to be enjoyed from either side of the glass. They are so cheerful, bringing in so much natural light. They must, however, have appropriate draperies or shades for energy efficiency and light control. In various rooms with the tall windows I have used draperies and blinds, both formal and informal. One thing I have always done, though, is to be sure the draperies or blinds do not interfere with the view. Draperies always stack back on the wall, covering only the trim; my favorite blind for a floor to ceiling window is either cordless (for a lower ceiling) or electrically controlled so there are no strings or wands cluttering up the window.

Sorry guys its all gone for now but this stuff grows incredibly fasy and I am sure I will have more soon. I usually throw it into the woods all summer. I will post again when I have too much
