Just soak the roots - not the crowns. The crowns will rot if you keep them in water. You can soak them for several days. But be sure to change the water frequently. Most people recommend changing the water every day. I've soaked some for up three weeks before planting, and they grew just fine,

Follow Shive's advice you will be fine. I have also been known to leave them in plastic bags in the shade under a tree and spriting(sp) the roots every other day for a month before planting. I don't recommend that, but when you get 1000 double fans in at once...... Those daylilies are one hardy plant.

Thanks for the advice. As luck would have it two orders came in today and there is no way I can plant them all in before the weather turns again.
Off to the store to get some low buckets to put the Stella's in till I can get them all in the ground.
