I don't know if there is a very red sweet pea out there, but that sure would look nice in your red garden. Clematis would be great on them too.

Were they that color when you bought them? They look like they have a slightly green tint to them? Or are they just pressure-treated wood and the color is showing up differently in the picture? They are so beautiful. What a great deal. I like your style buying them all!!!

We have a public garden that paints theme one bright color every year (dirrefent in eah garden)and then plants annuals to match the color. It's pretty cool. This year it's bright pink. Last year it was bright green. I wouldn't paint them every year, but a nice bright blue or purple would be kinda cool! Here's a pic...it's not the best, sorry...

What a gorgeous scene. I would never have thought of using orange to paint tuteurs but boy they look outstanding. I will most definitely add this idea to my yard next season. Thanks for sharing them.

gottagarden - Those are excellent finds. Use them for annual vines so you can change teh scenery year to year.

Those are so cool!! I didn't see any of those at our Lowes. I wish they had some!

It would be kind of cool to have one in your vegge bed with the ladders and have peas or beans growing up. I don't know if I would plant any heavy perennial vine on them, but annuals would look good.

I have the same one bought at Lowe's, not on sale. I planted clematis Elsa Spath to grow up it. Its not at its best right now, but was pretty in May.

Yes, they are stained a light green, a nice "blending" color.

Dani, I love your post on the different colors every year. I had already thought that maybe I will paint them each different colors (like my ladders) but wonder if that will be too crazy looking. I probably will after the first two years when they need a refresher.

Iris9 - yup, the same one from Lowe's. I like your idea of clematis, and at least one will have a clematis winding through it.

I'm thinking half will be flowers, half veggies - scarlet runner beans, sweet peas, cucumbers, etc. The fun is that I get to change it every year.

The Black-eyed susans are doing great this year and are HUGE! It's all the rain that they love.

And yes I will post photos :-) Been too busy this summer to post much, but winter's coming, when I have more time to garden daydream.

I'd save one for a hardy climbing rose, maybe one of the Explorers. William Baffin isn't scented, but it grows huge very quickly.

And if I acquired one of those I'd be browsing the Beans forum on GardenWeb and making notes on everyone's favorite pole beans. Kentucky Wonder is mine, but there are so many other wonderful varieties.

I see green beans of different varieties on them. Sweet peas would be great too, and I would save one every year for morning glories 'Heavenly Blue'. I always want to plant them, but I need a dedicated place to plant them. Just ONE of those would be great!

I build things like this all the time, but usually they are donated for something. I need to build one for myself!

Fantastic! I love those so much. Saw them used at the US Botanic Gardens in Washington DC this past weekend. Painted a red/orange and used as garden art rather than a trellis. Beautiful!

Wahoo! Score! I love that you got six so you can make a statement with them instead of just one or two! And I love, love, love dani's photo of the orange ones with those orange flowers - how striking! Be sure you do something 'WOW' with them - that's why you got six, right? ;) This just gets my creative juices flowing! Can't wait to see what you decide to do with them! :)

I love obelisks for adding drama to a garden. Great deal you got on those. I love the other pictures posted too. I think I'll check out my local Lowe's today!

Those are a great deal,but i love your black eyed susans,i don't have a lot of luck with those.
