Honestly there are many, many clump and garden shots shown. Just look the the first few pages.

Foliage is often not good this year, with drought and browning leaves. In choosing daylilies, you should pay attention to flower size and scape height. Many pictures give no indication of how large the flower is or how tall the scape is on which it is blooming.

Here's a clump of Swan Pond--a tidy plant with flowers around 5". Height is around 28-30", with scapes varying.

Here you can see Gillian in the garden. It's not that short; the picture doesn't give clear perspective on height. Lots of leaf streak this year.

Here's Mohawk Chief in the garden. You can see it is a taller and imposing plant.

Thank you Mantis, your flowers are wonderful. The last photo is really helpful in gauging how the flower look in a bed. Do the heights of the flowers vary? Also, how many blooms typically open at one time in a clump? I'd appreciate any feedback on this.

Am I correct in thinking the daylily has a lot of green then? (as in foliage, compared to the amount of flowers?)

In a typical year, the leaves are gracefully lush early in the year, but look more ratty later in the summer. It depends on the rainfall and the prevalence of leaf streak. In a mature clump, one frequently has more than one flower open on a given day, and sometimes there are multiples.

Kay (Organic Kitten) and Rita frequently post garden shots of their daylilies. Kay's garden shots would be from earlier in June, but Rita has been posting them recently.
