Last Chance For Romance Bloom

Here is LAST CHANCE FOR ROMANCE with Stella Supreme blooming in the backround. I love LCFR because it is such a late bloomer and its so pretty. But even these extra lates are about done around here.

    Rita,
It is a beautiful Bloom. Mine is long since done with blooming.

There will be another bloom coming on Spoken in Parables, and Inca Puzzle is blooming: it didn't bloom during the season and it has already had three blooms. I will take a picture tomorrow. One one of the new ones from Maryott's, Lava Flow, has put up a scape and Handwriting on the Wall has two scapes, but they are "cheater" scapes, and I will only allow a couple of blooms to mature.

It will be fun to have a few blooms.

The butterfly garden is "working alive" with butterflies today. I will miss them terribly when they are gone.

Kay- Even my butterfly bushes are near the end of the blooming cycle. That plus the fact that my zinnias are gone means the butterflies have gotten much less frequent around here. Those zinnias really brought in the butterflies. So they will be back next year. And they will be out in front out in the middle of the new mini terraces. Daylilies at both ends.

There are some of the Olallie extra lates still blooming in Olallieland. Plus Autumn Odyssey started blooming. Not much in the way of daylilies going on here though. The roses are blooming though so there is lots of garden color.

Have your zinnias already quit blooming? The climates must be really different.

Zinnias are still putting out a lot of new buds here. I still have gardenias on the bushes, and I am so enjoying them. I have some roses, but not anything like yours but they are lovely. The Joe Pye Weed is getting past its prime. but the butterfly bushes are still blooming strongly, and might be blooming in December as were the zinnias last year.

I have all these plans about taking better care of the garden next year, but that could be like a New Year's resolution, I guess. I have enjoyed te garden especially this year even though it has been so hot and we have not had enough rain.

Rita, that one is at the top of my want list. One of these days when I can find it I'll get it.
No original blooms here--just a few rebloom scapes. The sedums are blooming though and the asters are starting so there is still a little color, but compared to peak daylily season it's pretty dull.

Val- It is sold out at Murphys so you have to look for it on the Lily Auction.

Kay- I had to have all my zinnias torn out and tossed to do the mini terraces all the way accross in the front yard. About the middle of were they are now is were the zinnias were growing. Next year I will plant them in the spring again in the middle of the mini terraces.

I was really sorry to tear out the zinnias. But I had to go ahead with putting the mini terraces all the way accross (therefore tossing out the zinnias) as they had really goofed up those little end terraces. I just could not make the guy understand that he had put them in wrong. Not until he measured after everything was out to go accross. Then he realised I was right and that he had screwed up. So I lost my zinnias because of that mess.

That's a very pretty bloom! I only had a few buds on mine this time, but I don't think any of my blooms looked that good. It was my very latest bloomer. Did yours bloom for a long time, and are your scapes pretty tall?

Your photo of LCFR is a beauty Rita! What a pretty late bloomer to have blooming for you now! I have a few DLs putting up rebloom scapes now that we've been getting normal rainfall the past couple weeks.

Its always so sad to see the end of bloom season. Even mine can't keep going forever and I do have lots of lates and extra lates.

Debra- Yes it does bloom for a long time although this is it, its going to be finished now. Its not TOO tall but it is nicely tall. Not one of those shorties. Although by Jim Murphy standards its not really tall LOL!

A pretty bloom Rita. So nice to see blooms isn't it? First thing in the morning I check to see who is blooming and what new scape I will find. I've been moving daylilies around and I hate to do it when it has a scape on it. But our window is slowing closing for getting things settled back in before the first frost.

A very pretty bloom. I'm seeing fewer butterflies here too. A couple of my friends & I were talking about how many butterflies there were this year. I had crowds on my butterfly bushes this year and caterpillars ate every single leaf on every wild white butterfly weed plant I had. I don't know one butterfly from another, I need to start looking them up. I had a lot of large cream colored with black markings, very pretty. I was just saying I need to plant zinnias next year!

    Hi Rita,

I really like the color on LCFR. That is a nice pink. I am jealous of you people that are still having blooms. You can keep your cold winters though. LOL... :O)
