Freezing the start of cream of broccoli soup

I'm putting these 5 quarts of the start of cream of broccoli soup into the freezer. I've never done this before, but I think it will work well. When you make cream of broccoli soup, you first sautee onions, celery, etc. (I added yellow squash also because I have so much right now). Then you add the broccoli and either water or broth. After everything has simmered until the broccoli is tender, you use a hand mixer to puree it all. Next you add milk (or cream) and flour to thicken. You can also add cheese. But I'm freezing the soup before adding the milk. I'll add the milk once it thaws for a quick dinner.
