Nancy - when I took the Landscape Design program at Broward College, we spent hundreds of dollars on books. None of them were worth the cost when it came to design. Everything I know about design, I learned from driving around the state and looking at landscapes and gardens.

Take a trip to Fairchild or Mounts or Flamingo and look at them in terms of design, not just a collection of plants. Get into the old neighborhoods of Broward and Dade County and you'll find more design ideas than any book could offer.
