I made a suggestion to the AHS that the past issues of the Journal be put on a DVD and sold for, say $60 which seems to be a fairly average figure for such DVDs. Perhaps the price could be higher for non-members and include a year's membership in the AHS.
Another option I mentioned was to have the old hosta journals available as PDFs in the members only section of the the AHS website.
I would love to have a collection of the Journals, I've only been a member for a year and a bit, so don't have that many. But, to be honest, I cannot afford to buy the back issues at $12+ each. If I understand it, the supply of back issues is running down anyway.
It seems only sensible to put the set on DVDs for posterity as there really is no other practical way for current and future members to access the articles, other than having them on the website, and I think you have to scan them to make them usable, so why not go just one step further?
I haven't heard back from anyone about this idea. I think it could be a good source of new members plus it would be a value added option for memmbers.
Any thoughts from AHS members, potential members, board members?
I love the Hosta Journal - the writing is excellent and the information priceless!

thanks, Jakki. I like the regular mag because I can take it with me in the car to read while I'm waiting to pick up kids or on my lunch breaks.
My plan is to put several mags on my Christmas or Mother's Day list so I want to chose wisely. what's in the convention mag of the AHS?
