I love mine, too. Used both last night making lemon shrimp pasta - I can't believe how easy it is to zest a lemon and shred some asiago cheese for the sauce.

They are so easy to swipe with a sponge and rinse clean, too! I think that's one reason I never use the food processor we have. It takes two seconds to shred the veggies and half an hour to disassemble and clean the parts and pieces.

I need a Microplane. I think I need an Oxo Good Grips box grater too.

I've had one for years, and I love it. I got it from Lee Valley tools, and they sell a custom made stainless bin that fits on the microplane to catch the shavings. I give them out as housewarming/wedding gifts. Such a simple yet highly useful tool.

The Microplane grater has a knuckle, finger guard on their box grater. I know I need that, lol.

Oh yes Jim, it gives foods that "home cooked" secret ingredient! Plus, color for the eye appeal

I've found the wide ones work the best, more surface area I suppose. We can grate softer cheeses like cheddar. The ribbon grater does a good job on garlic.
