That sounds like a rufous or maybe a hummingbird moth? Standard I think that's a red hot poker (Kniphofia) that's not red. Beautiful garden flowerpowereverett! Like standard said great place to sit and watch hummers

The yellow flower is a kniphofia, Mango Tango. I noticed that the hummingbirds always go to the Red Hot Poker so I thought I would try this one too. So far, they have gone to it but I haven't been able to snap a pic.

Only saw the adult female today, but am still thinking the other one might have been a baby.

I am growing some Red Hot pokers from seed and they are doing okay so far. I'm hoping to get them through the winter so I can have some blooms next year.

That garden is beautiful!
