Congratulations on your first iris bloom!

I think it's iris pseudacorus, the 'yellow flag' iris. It's a beautiful color. Be aware that it can take over a yard if there's enough moisture: it's considered invasive. In the wild it grows at the edges of water. It was the first iris to grow my pond, and I love it.

hosenemesis ~ Thank you for your quick reply. I Google'd it and you're right. It is a 'yellow flag iris'. I also found that it is invasive in some parts of BC. Thanks for your help!
